Setting Outlook to be the Default E-Mail Program

Normally you can set the default mail program from the Internet Explorer (Tools / Internet Options / Programs)

If this still doesn't work for you:

  1. Open the Explorer (not Internet Explorer)
  2. Select Tools / Folder Options
  3. Click on the File Type tab
  4. Go to URL:MailToProtocol
  5. Edit the Open action to be "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

Note: The location of Outlook may be different depending on the version of Office you have installed.
