Added 11/30/97
If you have applications that you want to stop from starting automatically, there are three places you need to look, the WIN.INI file, the Startup Folder and the Registry.
- The load= or run= lines in the WIN.INI file. This is in the directory where you installed Win95, usually the C:\WINDOWS directory
- The StartUp folder.
Start the Explorer.
Go to C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp folder.
Remove any shortcuts you find there that you don't want. - The Registry.
Edit the Registry
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run.
Remove any programs from there.
